Eight GC moves this week, and two of the biggest went to insiders. At Fox, chief legal officer Adam Ciongoli is not renewing his contract, and deputy Nicholas Trutanich, a former U.S. Attorney, takes the general counsel job on December 1. Dell’s top lawyer retires in February and hands the keys to his head of corporate legal. Succession planning works, apparently.
Not every exit is so tidy. BuzzFeed’s chief legal officer quit with no severance and no named replacement; the legal team just absorbs the work. - Lupin: Brian Savage, Teva’s interim global CLO, joins as president and chief legal officer, based in New Jersey. Source
- Candel Therapeutics: Maria Ostrovsky, ex-Deciphera GC, named general counsel effective Nov. 3. Source
- FHLB of New York: Former chief legal officer Jonathan West is now interim president and CEO. Source
