Cloud Computing: Contracting Nuts & Bolts – CLE & Networking (Free CLE, 4/26, NYC)

The New York In-House Counsel Meetup is having another event on April 26th that offers free CLE – here are the details:

“The “Cloud” may have replaced the alphabet soup of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and (if you’re old enough to remember) ASP, but things are as confusing as ever—usually to the cloud vendors’ advantage.  Please join us as our speaker, Richard Green, partner at McCarter & English, takes us through key concepts and best practices for contracting with cloud vendors, including how, and when, to: press for price transparency;  obtain verifiable assurances on data security; ensure disaster recovery protections for your company’s data (and not just the cloud vendor’s system); and position your company for regulatory compliance.

Topics include:

•  Where’s your data?

•  Who’s accessing it?

•  What are they doing with it?

•  When will it be available?

•  What if there’s a disaster?

•  Who is responsible for a security incident?

The presentation will be given from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A networking cocktail reception will follow the presentation, courtesy of the firm.

This course has been approved for 1.0 NY General Practice CLE credit.”
