When looking for an “in-house” job, do not forget governmental entities. Many attorneys spend their entire careers working for governmental bodies. Governmental jobs can also serve as a stepping stone to an in-house or law firm careers – providing valuable experience that can then be used down the road:
“The federal government employs 25,060 people under the job classification “general attorney,” …The average pay for a federal lawyer in fiscal 2014 was $132,817, according to the article. More than half of the lawyers were located in Washington, D.C., area.”
