Standing desks, touted as a healthy alternative, are getting a boost in popularity in the Silicon Valley. Google and Facebook are getting increasing requests for the desks from their workers, the Wall Street Journal (sub. req.) reports. They are spurred by news reports finding too much sitting contributes to obesity and health risks.
