The goal of the Committee is to provide a forum in which in-house counsel from businesses and not-for-profit organizations can interact with law firm practitioners. The focus of the group will be the dissemination and sharing of information and best practices, as well as the discussion of corporate issues, litigation strategies, legislative agendas, and regulatory and policy issues that impact in-house lawyers.
The Committee will seek to accomplish these goals as well as any others agreed upon by its members by organizing CLE and non-CLE programs on topics that are thought to be of interest, e.g. corporations’ responses to U.S. government demands for waiver of the attorney-client privilege. The Committee may also sponsor periodic programs in which senior in-house counsel and one or more law firm partners address issues of common interest such as the evolving economic relationship between in-house and outside counsel in various areas of practice.
