Legal Outsourcing is Booming

by Editors on September 6, 2005

Legal outsourcing to India continues to boom, as Excited Utterances points out through a number of interesting statistics, including the following:

"35,000 US law jobs are projected to move to
low-cost countries like India by 2010–and this number is likely to
reach 79,000 by 2015 (before 2004, no more than 12,000 legal jobs had
been outsourced from the US to offshore locations, according to Forrester Research). And NASSCOM estimates that a majority of this number (at least 60 to 70 %) is likely to come to India."

Legal Outsourcing Update

by Editors on February 17, 2005

The outsourcing craze isn’t limited to information technology projects.  Companies are experimenting with legal outsourcing as a way to manage costs.  Rob Hyndman has an interesting post on the topic, and CNNMoney has also provided statistics indicating that 12,000 legal jobs were outsourced last year, according to a study by Forrester Research.  The study projects that the job losses will increase to 79,000 by 2015, with just over half being attorney positions.  Email InhouseBlog if your company outsources legal services – and stay tuned for news on the latest trends.
