In-House Counsel Are More Likely to Provide Sound Legal Advice than Outside Counsel

Think outside counsel are more apt to provide effective legal advice? Todd Mayover of the IP Counsel Blog disagrees – and points to two key advantages that in-house counsel have over their outside counsel counterparts:

“Many attorneys hold a dim view of in-house counsel. Some go so far as to say that companies are more likely to receive sound, independent legal advice from outside counsel rather than from their own in-house counsel.”
