Gmail – Google’s Excellent Email Service

by Editors on April 19, 2005

A big thank you goes out to fellow blawger Denise Howell at Bag and Baggage for sending me an invite to try out Google’s (relatively) new email service – Gmail.  The thing that amazes me most about it is its speed – it is incredibly fast at searching email.  It used to take forever to find old emails at my web hosting company.  Another great feature is its "conversation" style of organizing email.  All email "threads" between one or more parties are grouped into one entry in your email  box.  You can then view the individual comments in tabs – this keeps your inbox clean and helps you stay on top of email exchanges.  I also like the fact that, with 2+ free gigs of space, there isn’t a need to delete email anymore. Indeed, Gmail doesn’t let you delete email unless you really try.  Email is just sent to archive in case you need it again – and it is always accessible through a quick search.  Want to try Gmail? Shoot Inhouseblog an email and we’ll send you an invite.
