“poignant email exchange that emerged from the 3,000 pages of emails released by the DOJ in response to questions over the U.S. Attorney dismissals. In the exchange, career DOJ prosecutor David Margolis asks deputy AG and political appointee Michael Elston to approve his response to Carol Lam, the fired U.S. Attorney in San Diego.
