In-House Lawyers Discuss Pitfalls of Generation Gaps

In-house lawyers who have grown from young upstarts to power brokers have started to notice generation gaps. The younger generation is “not going to respect you just because you are the boss,” said H. Eric Hilton, the 39-year-old GC of H.J. Russell & Co., who spoke at a generational diversity discussion in Georgia. The panel also addressed how differences in how people of different ages communicate — largely because of new technologies — have created gaps in the workplace.
