Lesson Plans to Help GCs Avoid ‘Club Fed’

Extensive research is not required; the media reports of corporate scandals continue apace. General counsel figure prominently in the governmental investigations and, more frequently these days, in the indictments and convictions or guilty pleas. Learning from others’ mistakes is far less costly than learning from one’s own, says former Safeway GC Michael C. Ross. Here are a few lessons that might keep in-house counsel from gaining first-hand experience under the gun or, worse, spending time in “Club Fed.”
