Patent Insurance May Become a Necessity For Growing Companies

by Editors on January 9, 2006

Todd Mayover of the IP Counsel Blog has a interesting post on patent insurance and why it may be necessary for some companies:

"When a company amasses a portfolio of patents to protect its products and technology, should the company also seek patent liability insurance to protect its patent portfolio?

For some growing companies, patent liability insurance may be a good thing. For example, younger companies that operate in a crowded or technologically advanced industry may need to cap the high costs of patent infringement lawsuits in order to stay competitive in the market."
