InhouseBlog readers, your five minutes of fame may be at hand - and you can help out a reporter at the same time. Read on for your chance at stardom:
"I’m a reporter writing an article for In-House, a publication of
Lawyers Weekly, on how to work with outside counsel effectively when
requiring them to submit a budget before working on any of your
matters. The Association of Corporate Counsel reports more than 60% of
in-house counsel are now requiring budgets from outside counsel, so I’m
providing practice tips on approaching this effectively and getting the
results you want. What are the dos and don’ts of requiring a budget?
What should this document look like–what categories and subcategories
are involved? Who monitors the budget and alerts the team when a line
item is drying up? Is budget drafting a collaborative process or should
one side go it alone and present it to the other? Any horror stories or
fairy tales from your experiences? Feel free to reach me via
email at ajcfreelance at gmail dot com and then we can catch up via
phone for an interview. I’m looking forward to your responses! –Amy Conner"
